ABOUT ME
Coming from a fine art background I went on to study a BA in Interior Design, which I finished with a First Class Honours. Then due to not being able to find design work in my home town I spent my first year after graduation working unpaid at a small independently run furniture shop offering an interior design service alongside selling items of furniture, it is here I began to learn about furniture and dealing with customers and light sales. After a year I eventually had my 'big break' at a kitchen showroom which kick-started my kitchen design career. I was designing and selling the full range of kitchen styles from traditional to contemporary and quickly learned I had a passion for contemporary kitchen design. |

After 11 months here I moved to London to be closer to work and unfortunately within 6 weeks of moving the company had to close its doors due to external factors, which made me redundant. Fortunately due to contacts I had made while working there I was able to secure an interview the following week at a brand new showroom selling only the contemporary german kitchen product I had grown so fond of and within 3 weeks I was working there. Since then I have learned a great deal about kitchen design, with several colleagues all with tens of years of kitchen design experience in both the retail and contract design market and I quickly settled in to working with both types of clients. I now feel as if I am a competent designer that can tackle any type of client or project that is given to me.
In my role I carry out a full range of responsibilities, from initial lead taking in the showroom to site visits, the designing and quoting process, design reviews, selling and eventually managing the ongoing installations. This includes speaking with the suppliers, installers and clients alike and building a working relationship with them all.
My main focus is three dimensional digital model designs using the Winner Compusoft software, designing to the customer's specification and adding my creative input to create the one-of-a-kind designs Imbue is renown for; all working strictly within the customers allocated budget.

A LITTLE HISTORY
Before university my career path started from a Fine Art background having studied Foundation & HNC in Fine Art at college and this developed into a love of Interior Design. I enjoy 3D CAD modelling, and relish hands on model making in various mediums and spent the majority of my time at college model making and really learning and understanding scale and materials. I feel this has stood me in good stead to spatially understand interiors, this coupled with learning how humans interact with interiors and traffic flows and touching on ergonomics are all advantageous when designing.
